Abstract: The paper discusses the contribution of artist-designers to educate people, to rectify the traditional art with unusual concepts and improve upon a modern society. The contemporary issues of climate change, uncontrollable injustice done to nature and degradation of the global environment, are highlighted by artistic expressions. Art and artists belong to the world, not a single community. Art highlights a call against climate change and its adverse effects on humanity. An artist engages the audience to take action and connect to the cause to conserve earth. Art helps the viewer to think consciously and be aware towards the harmful impact of human activities on the planet earth that pollute its environment, nature. Expression in eco-art highlights the relationship between biodiversity and environment, man and mother earth. Art symbolically focuses on the negative effects and highlights the solutions to improve upon different mediums, styles and eco friendly range of natural sources. Being a skill of various art forms, it was appreciated by Agnes Denes, John Ruskin and many more eco artists who use plants, natural materials, colors to help society to learn social as well as environmental issues instead of raising installation, sculptures, paintings or performance for entertainment only. The study based on observation and online survey of art pieces is of descriptive qualitative approach. The work of famous environmental artists is explored. Eco-art is found in the public spaces, parks, buildings and streets in the form of sculptures, installations, graffiti, with sustainable material. The rise of science and technology has made life on earth very comfortable and easy but it has limited the natural resources. The lifestyle has done injustice to earth, it›s environment and nature. The 21st century artists have empathetic nature. Their innovative creative art highlights the problems and environmental issues to the audience and make them aware of their duty to conserve and preserve the planet earth for safe future generation. The artistic expressions have an ability to spark consciousness to the global community.
